The Impala Stampede is a fun and exciting 5K*/Kids’ Mile/Kids’ 400m Dash that the Impalas hold in Golden Gate Park every spring. While the race is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, it is also a PAUSATF** circuit event that draws some of the fastest runners in the Bay Area. Post-race festivities including a new Kids’ Karnival take place near the Conservatory of Flowers in beautiful Peacock Meadow. With the help of our generous sponsors and the tireless work of the Impala Racing Team, this is a race to look forward to! Please visit the Impala Racing Team Instagram page (@impalaracing) for updates. The next Impala Stampede will take place on June 7, 2025.

2025 Race Information

The 5K is part of the Pacific Association-USA Track & Field (PA USAT&F) Road Short Course Grand Prix Series*. It is held in the beauty of San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on the JFK magnificent mile and around the stunning Blue Heron Lake. The event is open to the entire running community and will include an elite field, prize money, age group prizes, giveaways, and more. The Kids’ Mile is for children ages 12 and under. The brand new Kids’ 400m Dash is for children ages 8 and under. Also debuting this year is the Kids’ Karnival featuring post-race games for all young ones to enjoy. With the help of our generous sponsors and the tireless work of the Impala Racing Team, this will be a race to remember! Please visit our Instagram pages for updates. @impalaracing

The race is open to runners and walkers of all ages and abilities, rain or shine. All 5K participants will receive commemorative socks. PAUSATF membership is required for prize money payouts**. Be aware that headphone use during the race is not allowed for USATF athletes per competition rules. Officials will disqualify any USATF athletes wearing headphones from prizes or Grand Prix scoring. This rule does not apply to any other race participants but we do ask that everybody exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings if they choose to wear headphones during the race. Post-race festivities will also take place near the Conservatory of Flowers in Peacock Meadow, in Golden Gate Park.

The Impala Racing Team is excited to donate a portion of our race proceeds to Shannon Rowbury’s Imagining More Foundation (IMF). By supporting student athletes through their athletic, educational, and professional journeys, students are empowered to achieve their dreams, regardless of their background and socioeconomic status. Shannon’s Youth Empowerment Through Sport Camps offer Greater Bay Area student athletes (ages 12-18 years) and their coaches the opportunity to interact with Olympians, world-class athletes and content experts. The camps provide strategies to promote mental, social and academic excellence, share tips on how to be one’s best in sport, and give guidance on how to leverage one’s unique talents for potential collegiate and career opportunities. Camps include daily Warmup & Workout Sessions led by an Olympic Bronze Medalist and world record holder as well as educational sessions led by content experts. For more information or to make a donation, see https://www.imaginingmore.org.

All entry fees are NON-REFUNDABLE and non-transferable.

Strollers MUST start at the back and be careful not to impede other participants.

Racers who register as non-binary racers will be eligible for age group prizes. Given that USATF does not currently have a non-binary division, USATF members must register as a man or woman in accordance with their USATF registration status to be eligible for PAUSATF scoring and prize money. Registrants who decline to state their gender will be entered in the Participant division. They will be listed in the results with only their name and finishing time and will not be eligible for awards or prize money.
